In order to introduce an appropriate pressure, a centrifugal fan is imperative. The pressure should be approximately 1,200 Pa (12 mbar) at a sufficient flow rate. If the ventilator applies a high pressure at reduced airflow, wilted grass can be easily flowed through. For the air velocity through the hay box, 0.11 m/s is desired. Thus, a good impact strength is guaranteed. Too high air velocities promote fire effects and thus air leaks, especially at low loading heights. If a fan is equipped with a frequency control, the system can be optimally regulated.
